I am relatively new to the outdoor life but I
consider myself
an avid outdoorsman now even though I still have so much to
learn. It
is really great to meet guys like Jim and Scott that have
really taken
such a proactive stance to preserve and improve the sport of
icefishing
for all anglers. Without their efforts and
involvement who knows
where the sport could be. I just wanted to
send out a big thank you to
everyone at MIAA for the huge changes that they worked hard
to ensure this
year. The night fishing is gonna be
AWESOME!

I'm very excited in the
direction MIAA is taking. A lot of good work has been done in the
past,and the future looks even
brighter. The expansion of the website will make a great place to share
ideas and voice concerns. Continued work on access would be great
too.I like the future of the MIAA!

I just wanted to say thanks for all the new
and exciting
things that are taking place with MIAA. Although the MIAA did some
great
things last year to improve our time spent fishing, I can see an
improvment already this year and was thrilled to see the MIAA getting
involved
with some derby's. It's always nice to see our children involved and
learning to fish the hardwater with us too!
The new magazine we recieve with our
membership is top notch and makes
the dues worth every penny!
Keep up the good work!!!

I would like to start off by saying that the Maine Ice Anglers
Association is a wonderful group of concerned ice anglers who already
have shown an impact to the 2008 ice fishing season. The opening of
Pleasant Pond in Caratunk, to ice fishing, is just a small example of
the
good things this organization is behind 100 percent. This is the first
year Pleasant Lake can be ice fished. A good friend and his son
recently joined me for a super day of fishing. We caught 14 togue with
the two
biggest being 24 and 23 and a half inches. Most fish were in the 18
inch range. All fish were very healthy. Every party that we encountered
caught fish. We met a group of guys leaving the boat ramp with 2 super
nice sized togue, 34 and 36 inches. I think the MIAA should set their
sights on other waters for the potential of also opening them up to ice
fishing. Jim Pucky and Scott Dube, (president and
vice
president
respectively)re a couple of real go getters who should be commended for
their work so far. Keep up the great work MIAA, I'm now a life
member.
